A San Antonio Brewery is Using Beer to Save Lives
The Alamo Beer Company out of San Antonio has a new way to bring awareness to prostate cancer in hopes of saving more lives with preventative care.
Working together with Pints for Prostates, The Alamo Beer Company will be capping some of their bottles of beer with a bright blue “Pints for Prostates” logo and text to bring awareness to prostate cancer during the month of September.
The owner of The Alamo Beer Company, Eugene Simor, is a prostate cancer survivor himself–giving him all the inspiration necessary to spread the word to others who may also be at risk. Bringing awareness to prostate exams is not always an easy task, but Simor is up for the challenge.
“It really is that sort of, ‘Oh, What’s that?’ You look at it, ‘Pints for Prostates,’ Eugene says. “And the hope is that men will at least look at the other side of the cap and realize that getting detected early for prostate cancer saves lives.”
Simor stated he is obviously glad he survived his fight with prostate cancer and says “the good thing about being a survivor is that you can drink more beer.”
More than 40 breweries have now teamed up with Pints for Prostates, bringing health checkups and beer together at last!
